Escape to Northern Spain

This five-night escape is a relaxed way to enjoy the tail end of summer, timed over a bank holiday weekend, so only a few days of annual leave are needed. Visiting two regions of Northern Spain, you’ll discover celebrated sights and everyday local character. Getxo is the gateway to Bilbao, home to the silver curves of the Guggenheim Museum and the narrow streets of the Casco Viejo. In Santander, enjoy promenade walks, the vast sands of El Sardinero Beach and the picturesque grounds of the Palacio de la Magdalena. Pause to sample freshly prepared pintxos with a glass of Rioja, or head inland to valleys and villages such as Potes to see why this area is known as Green Spain. During days at sea, step out on deck and keep watch for dolphins that sometimes appear alongside the ship.
